American Bresse Hatching Eggs
The ULTIMATE homestead chicken.
Also said to be the best tasting chicken in the world.
The American Bresse chicken is well known for its "marbled" breast meat. The bresse origianted in France and is the only government proteted chicken in the world.
They are extremely cold and heat tolerent, taking extra care in cold climate for frostbite to their large combs and wattles.
Not only is the Bresse a great table bird, They lay approximately 250 light cream colored eggs a year. This makes them a great choice for your homestead dual prurpose flock. Cornish Cross chickens, Rangers and other cross hybrid meatbirds must be purchased each year to process. Whereas with the American Bresse, your homestead can collect eggs and hatch your own to growouts to feed your family.
It is suggested to process this breed of chicken from 14-24 weeks. We process our 16-18 weeks usually, that seems to be our sweet spot. Traditionally a mash consistant of cracked corn, raw milk and grains. This breed is also great at foraging, making them good in free range flocks.
