FARM STAND

Updated: Jan 20

We decided to open a farm stand!! I came up with a few ideas of what I was hoping for and Nate ran with them. He scratched a few numbers onto the back of a receipt and off to Home Depot we went. This was definitely a labor of love. All five of us worked on the farm stand to get it up and going. The kids had a great time helping hand tools and screws as needed (even if it slowed Dad up a bit). We all helped paint. Although, I'm not sure if there was more paint on the Stand or the kids when they "helped". We opened the last week of July 2024.

During the spring and summer we worked hard to get things ready. Every last detail was thought out. We spent part of our summer vacation making jam, other goodies and getting our sourdough dehydrated and packaged.

Opening Day was so very exciting! The people of our community stopped in to check it out and it made our whole family so excited! The very first day we all stood out there to greet people and thank them for coming to support us. The kids had set up a lemonade stand for our customers and they thought that was pretty neat. The second day we let it really fly. Since our stand is on the honor system, we decided to let it run how we intended for it to. The kids anxiously watched out the window and or waited for the ding of the video camera to go off so they could go and see if someone was there. This was our family's new favorite past time on the weekend days.

We learned so much from our first year of having the farm stand open. We are excited to offer it to our community next year! Since we will be expanding, we are hopeful this will be staple of our small community.
